Fused deposition modeling (FDM) is a 3D-printing process where a thermoplastic material is heated and extruded continuously through a fine nozzle. As the nozzle is moved around build volume, parts are made by stacking one layer on top of the other.
Many other 3D-printing technologies exist, yet FDM remains the most cost-effective for most applications.
